The field of European Studies is quite broad and multidimensional, covering areas of Economics, Political Science, Law, Philosophy and many more. In general, it is a field that is always relevant and timeless, with an interdisciplinary and intercultural character in the study of Europe, thus providing graduates with the opportunity to work in many countries.
Initially, the student must know the history of Europe, its culture, as well as the institutions, most importantly that of the European Union. In addition to theoretical knowledge and foreign languages, with which he/she must be familiar, equally important are communication and organizational skills, the ability to cooperate with others and develop team spirit.
Employment Fields with European Studies
Diplomatic Academy
Graduates have the opportunity to become diplomats, after first graduating from the Diplomatic Academy, having a comparative advantage over graduates of other schools. Successful candidates are appointed as Embassy Attachés.
European institutions
An important area of employment is in the bodies and institutions of the European Union, such as the European Commission, the Council of Europe, the European External Action Service and others.
Government Services
They can seek career prospects as political advisors and analysts in Ministries and municipalities as well as in other Government agencies. They can also work at the UN, in political parties, interest groups and participate in the field of political research.
SME
Another sector is in the Media as journalists, in the publishing sector, the cultural industry, as foreign correspondents and as advertising and communication consultants.
Public and Private Sector
They can also be employed in both the public sector, as teachers, civil servants and secretaries, and the private sector, as entrepreneurs, traders, human resources specialists, etc.
